Robert L. Engeldinger

August 2, 1933 — March 23, 2014

Robert Lee Engeldinger, age 80, of Keller, formerly of Tours, passed away early Sunday morning, March 23, 2014, at Texas Health Alliance in Ft. Worth. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West by Deacon Ronnie Sykora, followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki and Rev. Michael Ajewole as celebrants. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery, conducted by Dyess Air Force Base. Robert was born August 2, 1933 in Peeksville, WI, the son of Benjamin and Nellie (Schwartz) Engeldinger. He attended schools in Peeksville and Glidden, WI. On October 19, 1957, Robert was united in marriage to Genevieve Elizabeth Groppe in Tours. She preceded him in death on May 26, 1991. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. Robert was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War and also served during the Korean Conflict. He then worked in the Maintenance Department of VanTran Electric for 20 years until he retired in 1994. He was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Robert was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Cameron Boone; a brother, Darold Engeldinger and two sisters, Doris Schatz and Fern Morris. Survivors include two sons, Calvin Engeldinger and wife Ginger of College Station, and Bill Engeldinger and wife Dawn of Elm Mott; three daughters, Kathy Filer and husband Raymond of West, Joy Engeldinger of Keller, and Nita Engeldinger of West; two brothers, Junior Engeldinger and Raymond Engeldinger; two sisters, Darlene Logan and Linda Schultz; eleven grandchildren, Amanda Boone, Justin Filer, Holly Hellinger and husband Sam, Travis Filer, Ethan Filer, Matthew Engeldinger, Aaron Engeldinger and wife Megan, Kelsey Engeldinger, Chris Engeldinger, Cody Aycock and Andre Ross Jr.; two great granddaughters, Emma and Kristin; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Chris Engeldinger, Cody Aycock, Matthew Engeldinger, Aaron Engeldinger, Andre Ross Jr., Travis Filer, Justin Filer and Ethan Filer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund, St. Martin's Cemetery or the charity of your choice.
