Robert Cannon, Sr., age 67, of China Spring, passed away Monday, August 17, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Robert was born January 17, 1942 in Waco, the son of Wayne and Lillie Pearl Cannon. He graduated from Connally High School in 1960. In 1959 he was united in marriage to Barbara Gerik. She preceded him in death on October 13, 1996. Robert worked for Waco Meat Service and was a supervisor for Pure Milk Co. He retired in 1998 as owner and operator of Interstate Battery in Pensacola, Florida. Robert loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include two sons, Robert Cannon, Jr. and wife Janna of Parkland, Florida, and Douglas Cannon of Pensacola, Florida; one daughter, Sherri Dando and husband Bill of Buford, Georgia; one sister, Alice Crosby of Georgetown; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Cannon and Shauna Simons, Brett Cannon, Corey Cannon, Colby Cannon, Hunter Cannon, Ryan Cannon, Jared Dando, Joseph Dando, and Robert Douglas Dando; one great-granddaughter, Kylee Ann Cannon; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society
