Robert B. "Bob" Boley, age 87, of Abbott, formerly of Arlington, passed away Saturday morning, June 18, 2016 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. As per Bob's wishes, only private family remembrances will be held. Bob was born August 19, 1928 in Big Spring the son of Robert Earnest and Dalpha (Irwin) Boley. He attended schools in Conroe and was a graduate of Conroe High School. He then received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Sam Houston State University in 1949. In 1950 he entered in United States Navy and served during the Korean War on a mine sweeper "the USS Impervious" off the coast of Japan and Korea, where he was an executive officer. Upon his discharge in 1956, he received a Masters Degree from Texas A&M University in 1958 and his PhD from Ohio State University in 1963. Bob was an associate professor from 1963 to 1965 at Tarleton State University and from 1965 until his retirement in 1998 at the University Of Texas in Arlington. On December 28, 1960 he was united in marriage to Jane Treleaven in Oak Park, IL. Jane preceded him in death on April 18, 2015. Bob is also preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, George Kaska; and a brother, Nathan Boley. Survivors include a daughter, Mairi Kaska of Abbott and her fianc, Keith Johnson; grandchildren, Kyle Kaska and Natalie Kaska; a niece and nephew, Robin Holcomb and husband Mark and Robert Boley and wife Jeri and their families; and many other close friends and relatives.
