Robert A. Busby

Robert A. Busby, Jr., affectionately known as Buz, Bobby, Dad, and PawPaw, age 59, of West, passed away late Monday evening, December 27, 2010, the result of a motor vehicle accident near West. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at White Rock Cemetery near Ross, with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Please join us in celebrating Bobby's life; the family will gather at the Ross Store following the service. Bobby was born August 29, 1951 the son of Robert A. and Cora Lee "Huffy" (Huffstutler) Busby, Sr. in Hillsboro. He attended West schools and graduated from West High School in 1969 before attending McLennan Community College in Waco. His smiling and friendly demeanor was an asset in his career with Busby's Grocery and Sulak's Caf in West and Randall's in Austin. Bobby enjoyed fishing, eating out, listening to loud music, and watching movies. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was blessed with a gift of helping others. Bobby was a member of the West Church of Christ. Bobby is preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Denise Ann Busby. Survivors include two daughters, Tracy Busby of Austin and Jaime Bates of West; his father, Robert A. Busby Sr. of West; a sister, Sheryl Porter and husband Dennis of Ross; his step mother, Norma Busby of San Angelo; his former wife, Ann Machac and husband Danny of Aquilla; three grandchildren, Collin Busby, Jacob Bates, and Zayn Busby; nieces, DeLayne Chudej and husband David, Darla Gerik and husband Troy, Jessica Vrba Dudik and husband Ricky, and Maya Shebesta; nephews, Keith Porter, Troy Porter, Josh Shebesta, Ryan Vrba, and Gabe Shebesta; special friends, Ganora Miller and Mary Ann Hively; and many other relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Luco, Troy Porter, Gary Vrba, Joey Shebesta, Danny Machac, Steve Coutret, Ronnie Pustejovsky, and Charlie McMordie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for his grandchildren.
