Ricky Lynn Maler

Ricky Lynn Maler, age 54, of West, passed away early Monday morning, December 3, 2012 at Providence Hospital in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Mark Griffin and Mark Huffhines officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Ricky was born January 19, 1958 in Waco, the son of John Earl and Doris Leona (Helm) Maler. He attended West Elementary and West High Schools. On November 21, 1980 he was united in marriage to Sara Kay Grier in West. Ricky worked as a truck driver and well tester for Archer and Associates. He was a member of the Ridin' High Cowboy Church in China Spring. Ricky loved spending time with his grandkids and his family, especially watching the girls play softball. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Ricky is preceded in death by his father, John Earl Maler. Survivors include his beloved wife of 32 years, Sara Maler of West; two daughters, Melissa Huffhines and husband Craig of Tours and Michelle Maler and Matt Vrana of West; four sons, Donny Maler and Elizabeth Wilson of Leesburg, GA, David Maler and Tammy Mosley of Robinson, and Derek Maler and Daniel Maler, both of West; his mother, Doris Maler; In-Laws, Dock and Judy Grier; two brothers, Johnny Ray Maler and wife Katherine and Douglas Maler and wife Shona; grandchildren, Natalee, Wesley, Aubrey, Avery, Tagen, Halley, Kenleigh, Colton, Timothy, Zakary, Kadence, Zoey, Ava and Hogan; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Christopher Maler, Aaron Maler, Lane Grier, Cody Harris, Rob Buchanan, Craig Huffhines and Matt Vrana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Hospice or the charity of your choice.
