Richard E. Davis

Richard E. Davis, age 72, of West, passed away late Wednesday evening, March 8, 2017 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 at Waco Memorial Park, with Rev. William Lamb officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Richard was born February 13, 1945 in Waco, the son of the late Robert and Joyce (Clendennen) Davis. He graduated high school in 1964 in Vermont. Richard served his country with the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. On December 23, 1995 he was united in marriage to Diane (Young) Porter in Waco. Richard was a truck driver for Sherwin-Williams for over 20 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, going to the lake, riding his jet ski, watching Nascar and all sports. He especially loved serving his country, spending time with family and taking care of his dogs, "Pumpkin" and "Sadie". Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Diane Davis of West; a son, Mark Davis and wife Stephanie of Corpus Christi; a stepson, Tommy Porter of Prairie Hill; grandchildren, Brittany Davis, Aaron Davis, Jacob Davis, Ashley Salinas and husband Andrew and Stacy Porter; great grandchildren, Andrew Jr., Aaden and Ashton; and many other relatives and friends.
