Rex Falkenberg, age 67, of Hillsboro, passed away late Saturday evening, December 7, 2019 at Homestead Nursing Home in Hillsboro. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Rex was born September 30, 1952 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Roland and Nellie (Christian) Falkenberg. He was a 1971 graduate of Abbott High School and attended Hill College. Rex farmed with his father during these years. After college, he worked in accounting for a few years and after his father passed away, went back into farming for a time. Most recently, Rex had his own computer business and consulted as an Information Technology Specialist for Warren Laboratories near Abbott for the past 18 years. Rex enjoyed working on computers, surfing the internet, and shooting guns. Survivors include cousins, Jaunita Spruce and daughters Stephanie Thorton and Cindy Powel; Ray Christian and sons Wesley Christian and wife Michelle, and Curt Christian and wife Aleah; Burianella Green and daughter Deborah Coe and husband Robert, and son Cecil Green and wife Angela; Don Christian and wife Debbie, and daughters Cindy Koehne and husband David, and Nancy Christian; Brenda Millsaps and husband Norman, and daughters Stephanie Koehne and Pam Geffre and husband Ron, and son Butch Millsaps; Carolyn Diane (Sauer) Clark and husband Terry, and their daughter, Lisa Anne (Clark) Widner and husband Matt, and daughter Jenna Diane Widner; and other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of your choice.
