Reno Arthur Kwast, age 90, of West, formerly of San Antonio, passed away early Friday morning, February 13, 2015 at Ridgecrest Retirement Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at Southeast Church of Christ in San Antonio, with Rusty Kwast officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Burial Park South. Reno was born November 21, 1924 in Seguin, the son of Fritz and Erna (Friedeck) Kwast. He graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1943 and served his country with the United States Navy during World War II. On December 6, 1945, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Kinney in San Antonio. Reno was a painting contractor and owner of Reno's Decorating Service until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Churches of Christ. Reno is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Anthony Kwast; and three sisters, Ora Mae Schneider, Lillian Hodges and Annie Lee Travis. Survivors include his beloved wife of 69 years, Dorothy K. Kwast of Waco; four sons, Arthur Kwast and wife Lillian of Frisco, Andrew "Rusty" Kwast and wife Donna of Abbott, Alan Kwast and wife Dawn of San Antonio and Aaron Kwast and wife Karen of Grand Prairie; sisters, Lottie Mae Hastings and Irene Berry and her husband Irving; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; and many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are his grandsons.
