Regina (Dudik) Kapavik, age 95, of West, passed away early Thursday morning, February 21, 2019 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Regina was born May 3, 1923 in Penelope, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Bartosh) Dudik. She attended schools in Penelope and was a graduate of Penelope High School. On May 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to Henry F. Kapavik in Penelope. Henry preceded her in death on December 17, 1979. Regina was a homemaker and a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was also a member of KJZT Society #11, Catholic Daughter's of America Court #829 and St. Anne's Altar Society. Regina enjoyed crocheting, sewing, fishing, gardening, embroidering, playing Bingo, gambling at Winstar, having a glass of beer or wine, baking kolaches and bread, and eating her son's homemade chicken noodle soup. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Regina is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Kapavik; brothers, Bill Dudik and Ed Dudik; and sisters, Molly Hlavenka, Carrie Vrba, and Martha Hlavenka. Survivors include her children, Peggy "Tootsie" Kucera and husband Frank, Henry "BoBo" Kapavik and wife Jane, and Rita Johnson and husband Raphael all of West, and Jimmy Kapavik and wife Joni of Hewitt; sisters, Louise Stuckley and Doris Kral and husband Dennis; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter and a great great grandson on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Frank "Dude" Kucera, John Henry Kapavik, Mark Lewis, John Cooney, Larry Kapavik, and Freddie Kapavik. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of your choice.
