Raymond Joe Juricek

April 22, 1933 — February 21, 2013

Raymond Joe Juricek, age 79, of Elm Mott, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki and Rev. Michael Ajewole as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday at the church. Raymond was born April 22, 1933 in Ennis, the son of John A. and Agnes (Masar) Juricek. He attended schools in Ennis and Dallas. On September 27, 1961 he was united in marriage to Margie Sebik in Abbott. Margie preceded him in death on September 29, 1994. Raymond then married Georgia (Pokluda) Vrba on October 3, 1998. Raymond was a truck driver for Sears in Dallas for over 33 years before retiring in 1993. He also worked for the Dallas Independent School District for several years. Raymond was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. He was also a member of the K.J.T. Society and the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #66. Raymond enjoyed dancing, listening to Czech music, gardening and traveling. He loved spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. Raymond is also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Johnnie Juricek and Alphonse Juricek; and a sister, Agnes Trilica. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Vrba Juricek of Elm Mott; sons, Dan Juricek and wife Patricia of Waxahachie and Larry Juricek of Forney; stepchildren, Kenneth Vrba, Glenn Vrba and wife Terri, Anthony Vrba and wife Angela, Richard Vrba, Patricia Jung and husband Ken and Dr. Kathleen Humphries and husband Eugene; sisters, Pauline Juricek, Margie Hargrove and husband Horace and Betty Sebik and husband Pat; grandchildren, Brandon Juricek and wife Jonelle, Ashley Juricek, Hollynd Juricek, Teighlor Juricek and Lindsay Juricek; a great granddaughter on the way; 9 step grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Patrick Juricek, Brandon Juricek, Pat Sebik, Kenneth Vrba, Glenn Vrba and Anthony Vrba. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery or the charity of your choice.
