Mr. Raymond Sinder, age 71 of Whitney, Texas passed away April 14, 2007 at his residence. Memorial Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Our Savior Lutheran Church Hwy 22 West, in Whitney, Texas. Mr. Sinder was born September 1, 1935 in St. Peter, Minnesota to Raymond A. Sinder and Louella Burns. Ray was most active in the Lutheran Church where he served in many capacities throughout his life to include President of the congregation, treasurer, elder and chairman of the elders. He grew with God as he aged in life, touching those that knew him with grace, love and compassion that God had touched him with. He received an associates degree in business and was regional sales manager for a farm machinery company. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy from November 15, 1954 until October 13, 1956. He married Judith Katherine Schmidt, on December 25, 1958 in Levenworth, Kansas and had been a resident of Whitney for the past three years. Mr. Sinder is survived by his wife Judith of Whitney, his children, Bradley J. Sinder of Indianapolis, Indiana, Gregory P. Sinder of Theresa, New York, Terry R. Sinder of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Stacey L. (Rial) Sinder of Austin, Texas and Amy Elizabeth Sinder - Benitez of Houston; a sister, Gail Ann Leavitt of Levenworth, Kansas, ten grandchildren, a niece Kim Leavitt, a nephew Jason Leavitt and cousins, Robert and Michael Burns. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney, Texas.
