Ray Perez, age 76, of Tours, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 19, 2017 at his residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin Cemetery. Ray was born January 6, 1941 in Santa Rosa, the son of Feliciano and Catarina (Olivarez) Perez. He attended schools in Santa Rosa. Ray proudly served his country by joining the United States Army. On July 12, 1976 he was united in marriage to Stella Ann Gibson in West. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2007. Ray was currently working for Packless Industries in Waco, where he has been for over 29 years. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church. Ray was also a member of SPJST Lodge #6 where he was currently serving as Vice-President. He helped with the SPJST booth and all the Cottonwood picnics. He enjoyed playing dominoes, metal detecting, dancing, fishing, mowing his yard, spending time with his family and riding his motorcycle in his early years. Survivors include his children, Damon Perez and wife Teri of Ft. Worth, Denaria Dieterich and husband Steve of Hallsburg and Lillian DuPuy and husband Steve of West; his brother Ernesto Perez and wife Mary; his sister, Hortencia Prince; a special sister-in-law, Ovida Williams; 7 grandchildren, Wesley, Bryson, McKenzie, Travis, Aaron, Ashley, Stephanie and fiance Matthew; his dogs, Pepe and Roxi; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Otto Fuller, Steve DuPuy, Steve Dieterich, Kevin Berger, Brian Green and Ricky Boyd. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Packless Industries, SPJST Lodge #6 Cottonwood, and all his domino friends at Dago's. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SPJST Lodge #6 of Cottonwood or St. Martin Cemetery. The family extends a special thanks to Providence Hospice for the loving care of their father.
