Ray Alexander, age 69, of Elm Mott, passed away late Monday evening, April 24, 2017 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waco. Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Darrell Abercrombie officiating. Ray was born October 22, 1947 in Brownwood, the son Lloyd and Winnie (Byrd) Alexander. He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1965 and served his country with the United States Navy during Vietnam war, stationed in Guam. Ray then received a degree from Odessa College in Radiology in 1970. On March 20, 1999 he was united in marriage to Terry Miller in Elm Mott. Ray taught radiology at McLennan Community College, worked for Orkin Pest Control and as an EMT for Scott and White in Temple. Ray was a member and former deacon of the First Baptist Church in Elm Mott prior to joining Oaklawn Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Leroy Volunteer Fire Department, West EMS and the Elm Mott Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as chief. He was a known as jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed taxidermy, carpentry, playing golf, fishing, caring for his horses, doing yard work and working on his computer. Ray is preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, William and Tommie Supak; and three grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Terry Alexander of Elm Mott; his children, Carol Loudenslager and husband Richard of Hubbard and Steven Alexander of Burleson; his step-daughters, Tanya Miller and Jacinda Horn and husband Kevin; a brother, Harold Alexander; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
