Ralph L. Jupe

Ralph L. Jupe, age 81 of Norman, Oklahoma, formerly of West and Whitney, passed away late Sunday evening, July 20, 2008 in Noble, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Jupe was born July 12, 1927 in Tours, the oldest son of John and Gertrude (Holecek) Jupe. He attended schools in Tours and West. Ralph served his country with the United States Army during World War II and afterward with the Army Reserves for 30 years. On July 20, 1957 he was united in marriage to Erma Lee Ellis in West. Ralph was a machinist working most of his career on South 2nd Street in Waco for Hammond Industries, Economics Laboratory, and Holiday-Hammond, Inc. In July 1992, he retired from Chrysler Technologies in Hewitt after working for 40 years as a custom machinist. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, a member of the K.J.T. Society No. 31, and Catholic Life Association. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Willie Mae Weissinger. Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Erma Jupe; a son, Eldon R. Jupe and wife Johna of Norman, Oklahoma; three brothers, John Jupe, Jr. of Clovis, California, James Kerwin Jupe and Gene Jupe, both of Tours; five sisters, Adele Williams of Transylvania, Louisiana, Leona Swatzel of Santa Ana, California, Betty Jenson of League City, and Sarah Mandel and Diana Moore, both of Elm Mott, two grandsons, Daniel Jupe and Douglas Jupe of Norman, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
