Ralph Dr. Patterson

Dr. Ralph M. Patterson, age 71, of Lake Jackson, the father of Mrs. John (Lisa) Crowder and grandfather of Ashley Crowder both of West, died Saturday June 2, 2007 near Cameron, the result of a motor vehicle accident. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Lakewood Funeral Chapel in Lake Jackson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson, with Rev. John Hatch officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery. Dr. Patterson was born on April 13, 1936 in Ada, Oklahoma, the son of Roxy and Mamie (McQuillin) Patterson. He graduated from Conroe High School in 1954 and then attended Texas A & M University. He received a Bachelors Degree from Sam Houston State University, a Masters Degree in orthodontics and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas. On August 8, 1957, he was united in marriage to Clara Nell (Hundley) Patterson. Dr. Patterson was devoted to his grandchildren, loved spending time with his family and enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson where he served as a Deacon and taught the children's and men's Sunday School classes. He was also a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the Rotary Club of Lake Jackson. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Clara Nell Patterson of Lake Jackson; two sons, Phillip Patterson and wife Julie of League City and Jeff Patterson and wife Gina of Bend, Oregon; one daughter, Lisa Crowder and husband John of West; two brothers, Tommy Patterson and wife Pat of Lake Jackson and Charlie Patterson and wife Diane of Montgomery; four grandchildren, Ashley Crowder, Cory Patterson, Kyle Patterson and Zachary Patterson; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson Missionary Fund, The Lerner Development Fund Baylor College of Medicine, or First Baptist Church of West Building Fund.
