Charlotte "Polly" Busby Porter, age 95, of Ft. Worth, formerly of West, passed away early Sunday morning, September 14, 2014 at Senior Care in Hewitt. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Minister Ronnie Cope officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 p.m. Wednesday until service time at the funeral home. Polly was born February 26, 1919 in West, the daughter of Frank S. and Alice Mae (Thomas) Busby. She attended schools in West and was a 1937 graduate of West High School. On June 8, 1940 she was united in marriage to William H. Porter in Dallas. William preceded her in death on February 18, 1998. Polly was a homemaker and worked for Hancock Fabric Store in Dallas for many years, before retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Westworth Church of Christ in Fort Worth. Polly enjoyed quilting and cooking. She especially loved helping others. Polly is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas H. Porter; a brother, Frank Busby Jr.; two sisters, Inez Schrum and Mary Jo Miller. Survivors include her loving companion, Jay Fowler of Fort Worth; a sister, Dorothy Smith; a sister in law, Paula Busby; many nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are David Smith, Doug Burns, Michael Pollock, Nick Zufall, Gavin Pollock and Jace Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Ft. Worth Police Association.
