Perry Milton Horton

Perry Milton Horton, age 58, of Aquilla, passed away Saturday morning, October 3, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Parkview Baptist Church in Waco, with David Snipes officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery near Aquilla. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Perry was born March 22, 1957 in Waco, the son of James David and June Faye (Reese) Horton. He was a 1975 graduate of Aquilla High School. Perry then attended TSTI in Waco. On June 27, 1980, Perry was united in marriage to Pamela June Tyree in Aquilla. He worked as a mechanical technician for Brazos Electric in Waco for 20 years, and also Flowers Construction in Hillsboro for 20 years. Perry had worked as a farm hand for Gene Ryno. He was a member of Lone Star Cowboy Church in Abbott. Perry enjoyed playing his guitar with Spivey Crossing Band, and with his wife Pam singing at various churches. He loved hunting, fishing, working outdoors and music. Perry was preceded in death by his father, and his parents-in-law, Jim and Novella Tyree. Survivors include his beloved wife of 35 years, Pamela Horton; a son, Chance Horton; a daughter Danielle Lanier, all of Aquilla; his mother, June Mazzola and husband Ronald; two brothers, Parker Horton and wife Marcy, and Paul Horton and wife Karren; two grandchildren Lydia and Michael Lanier; his dog, Bella; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Luke Montgomery, Logan Montgomery, Jimmy Carpenter, Derrick Hurtt, Carl Sinkule, James Horton, Randy Horton and Chad Huebner. Honorary pallbearers are Byron Jenkins, Garrett Rieger, Jr. Rieger, Kyle Klaus, Danny Bailey, Mike Weinberger, Brad Gordon, Steve Glockzin and his co-workers at Brazos Electric. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aquilla Volunteer Fire Department.
