Peggy Nelson

Peggy Kathleen Nelson, age 75, of Whitney, formerly of Austin, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 17, 2024 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

Peggy was born November 8, 1948 in El Paso, the daughter of Robert and Mildred (Taylor) Nelson. She was a graduate of Ysleta High School and received a bachelors degree in education from the University of Texas, both in El Paso. Peggy was a teacher for the Austin Independent School District for over 38 years. She enjoyed bowling, camping, dove hunting, and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Clyde, Ronnie, and Jimmy Nelson.

Survivors include her daughter, Molly Davis and husband John of Whitney; a son, Tommy Brownfield and wife Bridget of New Braunfels; her grandchildren, Avery Davis and Preston Brownfield; a brother, John Nelson and wife Mary of Manor; friend for life, Sandra Devall; special friends whom Peggy considered family, Janine and Travis Nice and their daughter, Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
