Pearl Rose Hand, age 95, of England, Arkansas, passed away late Monday morning, January 21, 2008 at England Manor Nursing Home in Arkansas. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Vaughan Cemetery near Aquilla. Mrs. Hand was born on October 27, 1912, in New Jersey, the daughter of Herman and Christina Grollman. She attended school in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Pearl worked for General Electric in New Jersey and New Hampshire until she retired in 1976. She lived in Waco and New Hampshire before moving to England, Arkansas to be near her grandson. She was a good mother and loved to knit, crochet, read, and eat at her favorite Greek restaurant. Pearl was known to help anyone at her own expense and reached out to many. She will be truly missed by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas Hand; a daughter, Lois Maler; and a sister, Anna Mae Prince. Survivors include her son-in-law, Charles R. Maler Sr. of Aquilla; several grandchildren including Charles R. Maler Jr. and wife Stephanie of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Ernest A. Maler and wife Donna of Scott, Arkansas, Robert Maler and wife Donna of Portugal, and Elizabeth Bowles and husband Mark of Lorena; several great grandchildren including, James Haynes, Rhonda Haynes, Robert Maler, Jennifer Maler, Jeffrey Maler, Christopher Maler, Candace Pelton, Angela Maler, Jonathan Haynes, Steven Bowles and Tara Bowles; many great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or to the charity of your choice.
