Pauline Hanak

Pauline Hanak, age 85, of West, passed away late Saturday afternoon, July 12, 2008 at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West by Janice Kaluza. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Hanak was born June 24, 1923 in Mart, the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Sonntag) Freyer. She was a graduate of Mart High School. On October 26, 1947 she was united in marriage to Otto J. Hanak, Jr. in Abbott. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2005. Pauline was a professional seamstress for Lorch Manufacturing Co. and Wolf's Manufacturing both in West for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. Pauline loved getting together and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Catholic Daughter's of America Court No. 829, and K.J.Z.T. St. Ludmila Society No. 11. Her parents; one daughter, Lana Pavlicek; and a son-in-law, Charlie Kolar also preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Otto H. Hanak and Vicki Jaster of Brenham; two daughters, Linda Kolar of West and Bettie Samford and husband Olan of Hewitt; one sister, Helen Outlaw and husband Tek of Clifton; one half-brother, Henry J. Freyer of Richmond; two half-sisters, Lillian Adams and husband Keith of Waco, and Shirley Willingham of Tomball; eight grandchildren, Marc Hanak, Aubrey Hanak, Kelley Kolar and Brian Vrba, Kristy Owens and husband Kevin, Kody Kolar and Christina Nix, Jared Kupcak and wife Katy, Melissa Kupcak & Tina Pavlicek; six great grandchildren, Kendra, Katelyn, Addison, Avery, Andrew, and Braden; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers will be Kody Kolar, Brian Vrba, Kevin Owens, Jared Kupcak, Marc Hanak and Ben Hanak. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice or St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
