Paula Ruth Gregory

Paula Ruth Gregory, age 80, of Grand Prairie, formerly of Aquilla, passed away Friday afternoon, May 8, 2015 in Arlington. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Patton officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery near Aquilla. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Paula was born June 17, 1934 in Redwater, Texas the daughter of Rob L. and Winnie (Weatherford) Womack. She graduated as Salutatorian from Aquilla High School in 1953 and then received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Dallas Baptist University. On March 8, 1957, she was united in marriage to Gayle Gregory in Oak Cliff. Paula was a 5th grade teacher for Duncanville and Grand Prairie schools for 10 years until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of First Christian Church in Grand Prairie, where she was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Paula was also a member of the Aquilla Scholarship Foundation. She enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking, church activities and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Paula is preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Katherine Plummer and Eli Plummer; and a brother, Walter Womack. Survivors include her beloved husband, Gayle Gregory of Grand Prairie; two daughters, Leah Plummer and husband Mark of Arlington and Lynda Henderson and husband Tim of Roanoke; two brothers, Rob L. Womack and wife Coranell and Billy Womack; a sister, Lori Eisma; grandchildren, Brett Vick, Jamie Vick and fiancee Ethan Martin, MacKenzie Anderson, Justin Henderson, John Plummer and Samuel Plummer; three great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Brett Vick, John Plummer, Samuel Plummer, Ethan Martin, Jonathan Herreros and Keith Reed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Aquilla Scholarship Fund.
