Paula Kent

Dr. Paula (Denny) Kent, age 38, of West, passed away Sunday evening, October 10, 2021 at Providence Healthcare Center in Waco. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Paula was born May 13, 1983 in Ft. Worth, the daughter of Kevin and Pamela Denny. She was a 2001 honor graduate of Granbury High School where she played softball and volleyball. Paula then attended Tarleton State University and received a Bachelor and Masters of Arts Degree in English and was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and The National Honor Society. She worked very hard to enhance her educational background and went on to Texas Woman's University in Denton where she received a Masters Degree in Women's Studies and a Doctorate Degree in Rhetoric. On April 22, 2006 she was united in marriage to Cody Kent in Stephenville. Paula currently worked as a associate professor at Texas State Technical College in Waco. She enjoyed watching all sports, reading comic books, going to the movies, any Disney movies, cooking, and collecting tea cups and tea pots. Paula loved spending time with all of her family, watching wrestling with Bruce and doing make up and jewelry with Harley. She took a special interest in buying books for her nieces who were called her "Munchkins" and reading to them. Paula is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lee "Mimi" and Mick "Popie" Denny and Rachel "Mema" and Charles "Gramps" Coker, and father-in-law, Dewayne Kent. Survivors include her beloved husband of 15 years, Cody Kent of West; her children, Bruce Mitchel and Harley Jane Kent; parents, Kevin and Pamela Denny of Burleson; twin sister, Jennifer Denny Borchardt and husband Nathan of Ft. Worth; twin nieces, Aubrey and Olivia Borchardt; parents-in-law, Melissa and Randy Gill of Stephenville; sister-in-law, Brittany Kent of Stephenville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Scholarship Fund for her children Bruce and Harley.
