Patricia Ann "Patsy" (Young) Billings, age 74, of Waco, passed away late Tuesday evening, January 17, 2023 at St. Anthony's Care Center in Waco.
A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek and Rev. Fernando Saenz as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Patsy was born July 27, 1948 in Waco, the daughter of the late Jodie and Sophie (Makovy) Young. She attended LaVega Schools in Bellmead. On June 7, 1976 she was united in marriage to Leslie Billings in Waco. Patsy was a devout Catholic throughout her life. She worked as a personal caretaker, an elevator operator at the ALICO building, and was most proud to be a mother and homemaker. Patsy enjoyed playing the lottery, visiting with friends, and baking. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 46 years, Leslie Billings of Waco; three sons, J.T. Smith of Kilgore, Michael Johnson and wife Holly of Waco, and Kelly Johnson and wife Charlotte of Hallsburg; two brothers, Eddie Joe Young and wife Virginia and Billy Ray Young and wife Ginger; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Johnson, Christian Johnson, and Devin and Makenna Johnson and their children Hadley, Kaisyn, and Kamdyn, Renea and Shaun Napier, Crystal Bowley, John Smith Jr., Dustin and Alexis Smith, Jessica and Erinn McQuagge, and Naomi Stroud-Smith; 15 great grandchildren; her stepchildren, Sherry, Charlie, Paul, and Rita; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; a family friend whom she thought of as a daughter, Sondra Kay Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers are Devin Johnson, Christian Johnson, Cory Young, Jason Young, Larry Sosa, and Joshua McKinney. Honorary pallbearers are Virgil French and Juan Bueno.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Healthcare of Texas or the Association of the Miraculous Medal (www.amm.org).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver, Chrissy Ness, for taking such good care of Patsy.
