Patsy Sterling, age 87, of Gholson, passed away late Thursday evening, August 26, 2021 at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Pastor Ronnie Holmes officiating. Private burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery. Facial masks and social distancing are encouraged at the service. Patsy was born April 4, 1934 in Waco, the daughter of Buford and Lillie (McCartney) Eastwood. She attended West schools for several years and graduated from Waco High School. On August 22, 1952 she was united in marriage to William "Paul" Sterling in Gholson. Paul preceded her in death on July 18, 1985. Patsy was a very active member of Church of the Open Door and spent time serving as a missionary, through which she was dedicated to refugee causes. She worked for the United States Postal Service for over 15 years. Patsy enjoyed crocheting, tending to her garden, and had a God-given ability of taking care of others. She loved her cat, Lillie, and her family, especially her grandchildren, including her grand-dog Harper, and great-grandchildren, who were a very significant part of her life. Patsy is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Lee Eastwood and Aubrey Eastwood; and her twin sister, Fanny Barnes. Survivors include her children, Gerald Sterling and Paula Sterling of Gholson, and Gena Cunningham of Fort Worth; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Eastwood and Rosie Eastwood; her cherished grandchildren, Kerri Walpole and husband Jason, Jeremy Sterling and wife Stephanie, Kassie Kemp and husband Joe, Nikki Birdwell and husband John, Joseph Birdwell, Jordan Kemp and fiancé Sam, and Will Sterling; nine great grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Kim Barnes, Clayton Eastwood, Glenn Eastwood, Nick Eastwood, Keith Monroe, and Sam Snell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church of the Open Door.
