Patsy Picha, age 73, of West, passed away Monday morning, February 2, 2015 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Patsy was born March 7, 1941 in Abbott, the daughter of Edward F. and Mary (Pustejovsky) Urbanovsky. She attended schools in Abbott. On January 13, 1962 she was united in marriage to Albin L. Picha in Abbott. Al & Patsy were the owners and operators of the Czech-American Restaurant in West since 1980. She previously worked for Hillcrest Carpets, Lorch Manufacturing and West Gas Service. Patsy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Patsy was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829, KJZT Society #11, West Chamber of Commerce and a former director of the St. Mary's Quarterback Club. She enjoyed collecting birdhouses, cooking and family gatherings. She especially loved sports and attending her grandchildren's events. Patsy is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Laddie, Jerry, Bernard and Roy. Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Al Picha of West; sons, Richard Picha, Darrell Picha and Greg Picha and his wife Karen, all of West; daughters, Sharon Russell and her husband Buster of Abbott, Michele Pavlas and her husband Dennis of West, and Jenene Picha and boyfriend, Billy, all of West; grandchildren, John Picha and fianc Amanda Adair, Jason Picha, Bradley Russell and fianc Amy Lenart, Travis Russell and girlfriend Meagan Terry, Kelsey Russell, Breanna Pavlas and boyfriend Justin Watson, Cassie Pavlas, Blaine Picha, Blake Picha, Justin Picha, Kaylyn Pratka and fiance Jacob Waters and Keaton Pratka; great grandchildren, Hogan, Brinley and Railey; her dog, Willie; sisters, Marie Kershen and husband Ron and Roberta Anderson and husband Scotty; In-laws, George Picha and wife Gladys, Felix Picha and wife Bernice, Robert Picha and wife JoAnn, Jean Ward and Margie Featherston and husband Jack; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are John Picha, Jason Picha, Bradley Russell, Travis Russell, Blake Picha, Blaine Picha, Justin Picha and Keaton Pratka. Honorary pallbearers are all her special friends at Czech American. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
