Patsy Copeland

Patsy Copeland, age 71, of West, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 7, 2007, at West Rest Haven. Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bold Springs Cemetery near West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Patsy was born on June 10, 1936, the daughter of Elgin and Gertrude (Carter) Lowrie in Waco. She attended school in Waco and in 1972, she was united in marriage to James "Dub" Copeland. He preceded her in death. Patsy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. She also enjoyed sports and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially holiday gatherings. Patsy was a member of First Baptist Church of West. She is also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and seven brothers. Survivors include two sons, Brent Fitch of Waco, and Stewart Fitch of Whitney; three daughters, Shelly Haddock and husband Ron of Hewitt, Carla Allen and husband Steve of West, and Debra Holt of Waco; two step sons, John Fitch, Jr. of CA., and William Fitch of Bellmead; one step daughter, Kelli Satterwhite of Forney; one brother, Earl Lowrie and wife Nancy of Bellmead; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
