Patrick A. Kallus, age 87, of Waco, passed away late Wednesday night, August 2, 2017 at St. Catherine Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2017 at St. Mary Church of the Assumption in Waco, with Rev. Joe Geleney as celebrant. Graveside services will be held 12 noon Monday at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Pat was born April 14, 1930 in the Griffin Community of Hill County, the son of Charles and Sophie (Matus) Kallus. He attended the Brigman School near Birome and was a 1947 graduate of Penelope High School. Patrick served his country with the United States Army stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso and Ft. Benning in Columbus, GA. On January 1, 1955 he was united in marriage to Wilma Rejcek in Penelope. Patrick worked for General Tire and Rubber Company in Waco for 43 years, before retiring in 1999. He also operated a family ranch for most of his life. Patrick was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waco. He was also a member of the KJT Society in Penelope. Patrick enjoyed playing dominoes, farming, ranching and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's ballgames. Pat was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harry Kallus; and a sister, Elenora Svacina. Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Wilma Kallus of Waco; his children, Debbie Dunn and husband Bill of Garland, Donna Wetegrove and husband Adolph of Austin, Stephen Kallus and wife Diane of Chalk Bluff and Michelle Kallus and husband Jay Russell of Oak Point; a brother, Gilbert Kallus and wife Lena; grandchildren, Ashley Dunn, Ethan Dunn, Shelby Dunn, Zachary Kallus, Rachel Kallus and Bradley Russell; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Patrick Svacina, James Svacina, Malcolm Svacina, Bernie Svacina, Michael Kubala, Charles Kubala, Randy Cervenka and Dennis Kallus. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church of Waco, Church of the Nativity BVM of Penelope or to St. Mary's Cemetery.
