Patricia Korenek, age 71, of West, passed away Friday evening, November 13, 2015 at Providence Healthcare Center in Waco. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Pat was born January 2, 1944 in Pampa, the daughter of Carlisle Shelton and Fairy Fisco-Hawley and step-daughter of Therman Carter Sr. She graduated from LaVega High School in 1962. On March 31, 1962, she was united in marriage to B.J. Korenek. Patricia worked in Human Resources for Wells Fargo for the past 42 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Pat enjoyed reading, all genres of music, movies, home improvement, DIY projects, crossword puzzles and most of all spending time with her friends and family. She began everyday so thankful for her faith, her health, her family, and the opportunity to do what she did best both professionally and personally. Pat is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James "Jimbo" Carter. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, B.J. Korenek of West; daughters, Cindy Korenek of West and Mendy Meyer and husband Scott of Dallas; brothers, Therman "Bubba" Carter Jr., Kurt Daniel Carter and Louis David Carter; sister, Jeanie Carter-Millender; grandchildren, Ashley Deleon and husband Paul, Hannah Martin, Aaron Rieger and wife Ashley, Adrian Rieger and Elle Martin; great-grandchildren, Lillian Clark, Braylon, Brody and Brock Deleon and Fynlee and Fallyn Rieger; and many nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waco Boys and Girls Club and Compassion Ministries.
