Pat M. Uptmore, age 74, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, November 12, 2011 at his residence in Lacy Lakeview. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead, with Rev. Robert Herald as celebrant. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Pat was born November 10, 1937 in Tours, the son of Herman and Angeline (Vrba) Uptmore. He attended St. Martin school in Tours and graduated from West High School in 1956. He attended Navarro Jr. College, Texas A&M University, and Sam Houston State University, where he received a degree in Agriculture. Pat served his country with the United States Air Force Reserves. On February 10, 1967, he was united in marriage to Nancy Buice in Waco. Pat worked as a farmer and rancher and also owned and operated Pat Uptmore Fertilizer Company in Penelope for 15 years, where he was a representative for American Oil. He then became a liquid fertilizer specialist for West Chemical and Fertilizer for 20 years before his retirement in 2006. Pat was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead. He enjoyed working on cars and tending to his land and cattle. Pat is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clarence Uptmore and David Uptmore. Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Nancy (Buice) Uptmore of Lacy Lakeview; a daughter, Melissa Garza and husband Noe of Lacy Lakeview; three brothers, James H. Uptmore and wife Jan of San Antonio, Ted J. Uptmore and wife Adele of West, and Alan R. Uptmore of West; a sister, Carol "Sissy" Beard and husband Tom of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Sue Uptmore of Sugarland and Pat Austin and husband Jim of Dallas; two grandchildren, Marisa and Emilio Garza, who were his pride and joy; twelve nieces; sixteen nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Ted Uptmore Jr., John David Uptmore, Tim Uptmore, Brian Uptmore, Clint Uptmore, and Ray Uptmore. Honorary pallbearers are all nieces and nephews, son-in-law and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Bellmead, Providence Hospice, or the American Lung Association. The family would like to thank Providence Hospice for their support and guidance.
