Oscar Schofield

Oscar Schofield, age 78, of West, passed away late Wednesday evening, January 24, 2007 at Providence Healthcare Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Michael Green officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Schofield was born on March 24, 1928 in West, the son of Bee Otto and Susan Lucille (Boone) Schofield. He attended schools in Gholson and graduated from Aquilla High School. Oscar was a construction worker for over 20 years until his retirement in 1991. He also owned several businesses including a carpet store in Mart and a laundry mat and furniture store in Waco along with being a Certified Public Accountant for over twenty years. He loved to spend time with his family, fishing, drinking his coffee and watching Lady Bears Basketball. His parents; a brother, Alvin Schofield; and an infant daughter, Christy Schofield, all precede him in death. Survivors include two sons, Steve Schofield of Tyler and Brent Schofield of West; two daughters, Cindy Schofield of Austin and Sonya Schofield of Cuero; nine grandchildren, T. J. Schofield, Allison Schofield, Maddison Waller, Katelyn Schofield, Dani Schofield, Trace Kleinecke, Jaxon Timpone, Kerstin Timpone and Peyton Timpone; and several other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
