Orlan W. Kuehne

Orlan W. Kuehne, age 83, of West, passed away early Thursday afternoon, April 20, 2017 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Shawntay Cordell Owens officiating. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until service time. Orlan was born April 10, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. He served his country with the United States Navy and was stationed at Hawaii, Alaska and Guam. In November of 1958 he was united in marriage to Naomi Parnell in Waco. Naomi preceded him in death on July 14, 1987. Then in April of 1988 he was united in marriage to Jutta Greiner in West. Orlan was an electrician for M&M Mars in Waco for 17 years before retiring in 1999. He also worked for McNeil Electric Company in Waco. Orlan was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4819, the American Legion Post and a 55 year member International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, building things with his hands, being outdoors, playing dominoes, mowing his yard and feeding the birds. Orlan was preceded in death by his mother Emma Young and his step father, Roger Young. Survivors include his wife Jutta Kuehne of West; a son, Jarrott Kuehne of Elm Mott; step children, Harry Joe Silva and wife, Jacqueline of Oshkash, WI, Rose Riddle of Grandview, Barbara Dawkins and husband Ricky of Hillsboro and Doris Mitchell of Waco; a brother, Allen Dean; a sister, Joyce Lehrman and husband Clarence; step grandchildren, Jason Knust and wife Tarrah, Justin Knust, Adam Knust, Kyle Knust, Ben Smith, Scott Smith and Samuel Mitchell; step great grandchildren, Kaspar, Helen and Miley; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
