Norman R. Bumpers

Norman R. Bumpers, age 79, of Pearland, passed away early Saturday morning, January 16, 2016 at Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Bold Springs Cemetery near West, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Norman was born December 22, 1936 in Waco, the son of J.C. "Ted" and Mildred (Blackburn) Bumpers. He was a 1955 graduate of Waco High School prior to attending Baylor University. On August 12, 1960 he was united in marriage to Annette Cox in Waco. Together, they owned and operated Filter Fab in Houston for over 36 years, before retiring in 2003. Norman enjoyed fishing, boating and playing tennis in his younger years. He especially loved to play golf and being a member of the Golfcrest Country Club. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Annette Bumpers of Pearland; daughters, Terri Lynn Bumpers of Pearland, Judy Johnson of Springfield, MO, Lori Reid of Alvin and Becki Morris of Tomball; a brother, Larry Bumpers; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
