Norman Goldberg, age 84, of Woodway, passed away late Monday evening, February 5, 2018 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. Private family graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott, with Military Rites conducted by West Veterans Honor Guard. Norman was born February 19, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Jack and Faye (Stamen) Goldberg. He graduated high school in Brooklyn and the University of Nebraska in Omaha. On May 8, 1971 Norman was united in marriage to Margaret Josephine Gerik in Las Vegas, NV. He was a career serviceman with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel after 26 years of service. Norman then taught Electronics at Hill College in Cleburne. He was a member of Congregation Agudath Jacob in Waco. Norman was also a member of VFW Post #4819, and American Legion Post #478, both in West. He loved duck hunting and traveling, and as they say, Norman never met a stranger. Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Margie Goldberg of Waco; brother, Gary Goldberg and wife Delores of Woodland, CA; sisters-in-law, Edith Cernosek, Betty Stanislav and husband Leonard and Lucille Lednicky and husband Jerome; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fatima Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 35, Abbott, Texas 76621.
