Norma was born March 11, 1943 in Boston, MA, the daughter of Edward and Lillian (Hanzelka) Traywick. She grew up in Waco and was a  graduate of Reicher Catholic High School and Four-C Business College. Norma met William "Bill" Adamcik at a Czech dance at Linden Hall in Elm Mott and they started dating right away. Three years later they married on February 3, 1962.  They lived in Denton and then moved to Dallas. Norma worked at Texas Instruments, Foxworth Galbraith Lumber Company, and held several other accounting jobs. She enjoyed attending numerous Czech dances with friends.

After having two daughters, Karen and Debbie, Norma and Bill moved to Irving and lived there for over 50 years where they were active members at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church. Norma enjoyed volunteering, especially organizing the silent auction at the church festival. They also enjoyed attending numerous sporting events cheering on and supporting their daughters in soccer, softball, and basketball. They were avid fans of the Dallas Cowboys having season tickets for several years. Never afraid of hard work, Norma and Bill were business owners of three laundromats in Irving for 30 years and co-owners of the Heart of Texas Speedway in Waco for 25 years in addition to their careers.

Norma and Bill enjoyed traveling with family and friends to Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, New York, Europe, China, Cancun and cruises on the Danube, Rhine River and to the Caribbean Islands. Also, they enjoyed casino trips to Las Vegas, Reno, Wendover, and Oklahoma.

Norma and Bill cherished time with family. They are blessed with 6 grandchildren who were a huge part of their lives. They attended each grandchild’s high school and college graduations and their weddings. Three years ago, Norma and Bill moved to Christus St. Joseph’s Village in Coppell. They enjoyed meeting new friends and crossing paths with old friends, and stayed active at the retirement center. They were blessed to celebrate their 60 th Anniversary this year.
