Nora B. Solomon, age 88, of Waco, passed away Thursday September 8, 2005 at West Janisch Health Care Center in Houston. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with the Rev. Ann Hitt officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Solomon was born on September 17, 1916 in Center City, Texas, the daughter of Thomas and Fannie (Wilcox) House. She graduated from Goldthwaite High School. On February 22, 1946, she was united in marriage to D. A. Solomon in Hamilton. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1989. She worked as a Senior Project Director for the Senior Employment Program through AARP for over 20 years until her retirement in 1993. Nora enjoyed spending time with her family and was a very good cook. An infant daughter, Sandy Solomon also precedes her in death. Survivors include her two sons, Ronald L. Solomon and wife Brenda and Thomas D. Solomon and wife Ann, all of Houston; one brother, Jim Tom House and wife Lydia of Brenham; two sisters, Billie Humphreys of Austin and Ann Stachowiak and husband Richard of Brownsville; four grandchildren, Glenn McMurrough, Marci Herber and husband Shelby, Chelsea Solomon and Kaitlin Solomon; three great-grandchildren, Madison Herber, Sara Herber and Emily McMurrough; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Pallbearers will be Glenn McMurrough, Shelby Herber, James Carpenter and David Mosley.
