Nelda Cargill

Mrs. Donald "Nelda" (Nuckols) Cargill, age 82, of Gholson, passed away early Thursday morning, October 29, 2009 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Gholson Cemetery, with the Rev. James Stevens officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Cargill was born on March 4, 1927 in Waco, the daughter of Argie R. and Annie Mae (Miller) Nuckols. She was raised in the Bellmead area was a graduate of La Vega High School. On July 3, 1953 she was united in marriage to Donald Cargill in Waco. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1978. Nelda worked for the Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Waco for over thirty years. She enjoyed writing poetry and sewing, she especially loved spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gholson. Her parents and a brother, James Nuckols also preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Allan McFarland and wife Patricia and Randy Cargill and wife Carla, all of Gholson; one daughter, Cheryl Eady of Missouri; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
