Nancy Fae Hurtt, age 86, of West, passed away early Thursday morning, September 2, 2010 at her daughter's residence near West. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hurtt was born March 24, 1924 near West, the daughter of Alice Mae (Kent) and Ivy Murden "Butch" Webb. She attended West schools. On January 29, 1944 she was united in marriage to Starlin Ray Hurtt in West. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1985. Nancy Fae worked for several West businesses including Busby Grocery, West Cotton Mills and Burlington Mills. She then retired from Hillcrest Carpets in Hillsboro. She was a longtime faithful member of the First Baptist Church of West, where she was in charge of the nursery for 35 years. Nancy Fae enjoyed sewing, cooking, and visiting with friends. She was a special caregiver and especially loved spending time with her family. Her parents; a son, Bobby Ray Hurtt; a brother, Hulon Webb; and three sisters, Ruby Cox, Virginia Anderson, and Marie Miller also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Klaus and husband Eddie of West; a daughter-in-law, Mary Hurtt of West; two brothers, Bobby Webb and wife Joyce of Lorena and John Abe Webb and wife Ann of Allen; four sisters, Billie Ruth Malone and Betty Jo Winton and husband Jim, all of Waco, Frances Craig and husband Harold of Post, and Shirley Bailey and husband Wayne of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Kim Foitek and husband Brian, Kayla Klaus and husband Eric, Shelly Stevens and husband Donnie, Kristel Reed and husband Robin, Kyle Klaus and wife Lori, and Derrick Hurtt and wife Kimberly; eleven great grandchildren, Hayley, Hayden, Addyson, Khloey, Avery, Kade, Emily, Kason, Kylie, Kinley and Claire; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Kyle Klaus, Derrick Hurtt, Gary Malone, Kent Craig, Ricky Webb, Jack Archer, Butch Webb, Jimmy Winton and Jeff Bailey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of West or Southern Care Hospice.
