Montez Clark

Montez Clark, age 88, of West passed away late Saturday afternoon, January 13, 2018 at West Rest Haven in West. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. Montez was born September 30, 1929 in West, the daughter of Franklin R. and Mallie Clark. She attended schools in West and was a 1946 graduate of West High School. Montez worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Waco and Austin for over 38 years before retiring in 1983. She was a lifelong and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in West where she served as the Financial Secretary for over 26 years, sang in the choir, and was a trustee. Montez also served on the Board of Directors of Bold Springs Cemetery and the West Hospital Authority. She was a member of the Communication Workers of America and the Pioneer Club at SWB. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and hand work. Montez is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Billy J. "Chili" Clark; and a sister, Dorothy Adkins. Survivors include her brother, James R. "Piggy" Clark of West; nieces and nephews, Fredda Stout and husband Joe, Jim Clark, John Clark and wife Julie, Donna Reed and husband Steve and Jean Bond and husband David; several great nieces and nephews including, Jack Stout and wife Emily, Mark Stout and wife Dawn and Mason Clark; and many great great nieces and nephews including, Luke, Logan, Maddie and Cole. Pallbearers are Jim Clark, John Clark, Joe Stout, Mark Stout, Jack Stout and Don Landrum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund or the First United Methodist Church of West. The family wishes to thank the staff and administrators of West Rest Haven for their wonderful love and care and to the staff of Aderhold Funeral Home.
