Monica Pustejovsky, age 58, of Waco, passed away Monday evening, October 18, 2021 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Brijil Lawrence as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery. Monica was born April 16, 1963 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Henry and Willie Mae (Matus) Pustejovsky. She was a 1981 graduate of Abbott High School. She then went on to receive her Bachelors from Baylor University and her Masters from Tarleton State University. She taught for Waco Independent School District for many years, primarily with at-risk youth. She had a passion for teaching and helping others. On January 16, 2016 Monica was united in marriage to Tamara Haynes in Waco. She was a long-time member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Monica enjoyed telling good stories, playing games, and taking trips to Winstar. She loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her beloved wife, Tamara Pustejovsky of Waco; children, Maegan Abney and husband Neil of Hillsboro, Kennedy Haynes of Waco, and Dustin Middlebrook and fiancée Caitlen of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Luke Abney and Logan Abney; sister, Rose Ann Kaska and husband Ron; brothers, Pat Pustejovsky and Billy Pustejovsky and wife Kathy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Craig Pustejovksy, Roger Kaska, Ryan Kaska, Scott Pustejovsky, Michael Cervantes, Larry Filer, Chris Brown, and Michael Young. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
