Minnie Lou Cammack

April 22, 1910 — February 8, 2010

Minnie Lou Cammack, age 99, of Gholson, passed away early Monday afternoon, February 8, 2010 at St. Catherine's Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Minister Glenn Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Cammack was born April 22, 1910 in Hill County, the youngest of eight children born to Frank and Erah (Smith) Lightfoot. The family moved to the Gholson / Rogers Hill area when Minnie was about 9 years old, where she spent most of her life. On November 25, 1930 she was united in marriage to Horace Cammack. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1972. During the early years of their marriage they operated a dairy. Minnie was active with the P.T.A. in her children's school; a volunteer for Hillcrest Hospital where she worked in the gift shop; and was a member of the Gholson Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Aquilla Church of Christ and attended churches in West, Elm Mott and Lacy Lakeview. Her parents and a daughter, Norma Sulak, also preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters, Vanita Hill and husband Wiley of San Antonio, June Helm and husband Ted of West, and Joan McCartney of Hewitt; a son, Milton "Bud" Cammack and wife Delores of West; a son-in-law, Gene Sulak of West; 11 grandchildren, Debbie Gifford and husband Jimmy, Gail Herbelin and husband Benny, Kim Gilbert and husband Steve, Mike Cammack, Pat Cammack, Tim Cammack and wife Joyce, Angela Sinkule and husband Doug, Ted Justin Helm and wife Shelly, Clay Helm and wife Brenda, Bryan McCartney, and Christi Osborne and husband Jeff; 19 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much; and several other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Mike Cammack, Pat Cammack, Tim Cammack, Ted Justin Helm, Clay Helm, and Bryan McCartney. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
