Millie Anita (Foyt) Kostecka, age 90, of West, passed away early Christmas morning, December 25, 2024 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.
A rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Robin Waters. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Millie was born July 3, 1934 in West, the daughter of John and Anita (Tobola) Foyt. She attended the old Alligator Creek School and schools in West. On June 23, 1956 she was united in marriage to Robert Kostecka Sr. in West. Robert preceded her in death on April 3, 1993. Millie was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was also a member of KJZT St. Ludmila Society #11. Millie was a homemaker and Mother. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking, cooking, canning, dancing, listening to Czech music,traveling, watching Lawrence Welk and her soap operas, going to the coast, and riding around on Sunday and ending up getting an ice cream cone. Millie loved the Thanksgiving and Christmas season and was known for making the best dressing. Taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with them was the most special thing for her.
Millie is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Foyt; a sister, Angeline Drozd; a daughter-in-law, Rosa Maria Kostecka; and a granddaughter, Rachel Nobles.
Survivors include her sons, Robert "Bobby" Kostecka Jr. and wife Betty, Michael Kostecka and wife Barbara, James Kostecka, and Mark Kostecka, all of West; her grandchildren, Sharon Bradley and husband Lonnie, Patrick Kostecka and wife Brittney, Vicki Stalnaker and husband Jon, Eric Kostecka and wife Carly, Shannon Steck and husband Wesley, Mark Kostecka Jr., and Joseph Kostecka; her great grandchildren, Brady Buttry, Toby Buttry, Bishop Bradley and wife Josie, Jarod Bradley, Emma Kostecka, Mia Kostecka, Skye Stalnaker, Bree Stalnaker, Jakob Nobles, Adriana Nobles, Everly Steck, and Henry Kostecka; her great great grandchildren, Khloe, Kingston, and Korbyn Bradley; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Mark Kostecka Sr., Mark Kostecka Jr., Joseph Kostecka, Patrick Kostecka, Eric Kostecka, John Kostecka, Toby Buttry, and Brady Buttry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption Building Fund or West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
