Mike Grusendorf

Mike Grusendorf, age 67, of McGregor, passed away early Friday morning, April 9, 2021 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco surrounded by his family following a brief battle with cancer. Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are encouraged at all services. LIVE STREAM of the service will be provided. Mike was born August 13, 1953 in Waco, the son of Elmer and Joan (Hurst) Grusendorf. He was a 1972 graduate of Richfield High School prior to attending McLennan Community College. On August 9, 1980 he was united in marriage to Judy Bohannan at Peace Lutheran Church in Hewitt. He worked in production and planning for Data Point, Marathon, Allergan and Huck Manufacturing for over 45 years before retiring in 2020. Mike enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, woodworking, bar-b-queuing and doing anything outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and attending all of their activities. In the past year he has become known as "Pop's Daycare" to Finn and Lennon and treasured every moment. Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, W.R. "Bo" Bohannan Jr. Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Judy Bohannan Grusendorf of McGregor; his daughter, Melissa Hoeldtke and husband Brian of McGregor; his son, Shawn Grusendorf and wife Keri of Woodway; his grandchildren, Brandon Hoeldtke, Matthew Hoeldtke, Lennon Grusendorf, and Finn Grusendorf; sister, Debby Welch; brother, Timothy Grusendorf; mother-in-law, Syble Bohannan; brother-in-law, Bill Bohannan; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ronald McDonald House in Temple.
