Michael T. Coffer

Michael T. Coffer, age 52, of West, passed away early Saturday afternoon, June 13, 2009 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday at the funeral home. Michael was born February 27, 1957 in Waco, the son of Jesse and Mildred (Detterman) Coffer. He attended West schools and on August 15, 1975, he was united in marriage to Kathy Haberman. He worked for H&H Sign Company for over thirty years. Michael enjoyed riding his Harley's, working on race cars, fishing, and he especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His mother, Mildred Coffer preceded him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 33 years, Kathy Coffer of West; two sons, Corky Wayne Coffer and wife Sidney and Steven Michael Coffer and wife Amanda, all of West; his father, Jesse Coffer and wife Lois of West; a sister, Susan Culp and husband Lloyd of Houston; four grandchildren, Brittney, Rachel, Courtney, and Katerina Coffer; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
