Michael E. Stanislav

Michael E. "Mike" Stanislav, age 51 of Waco, passed away Monday evening, March 21, 2005 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Leibham. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. David Leibham as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mike was born March 22, 1953 in Waco, the son of Jerry and Estelle (Vanek) Stanislav. He graduated from St. Mary's School in 1967 and West High School in 1971. He also graduated from Hill College with an Associates Degree in Art. He attended Texas A&M University for one year and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He married Karen Marak on February 12, 1977 in Abbott. Mike was currently employed in sales with Dealers Electrical Supply Co. He previously worked for ATCO International, Solar King, Watson Electric, and K&E Electric. Mike enjoyed all sports; especially baseball and he loved to cheer his boys on at the games and was very proud of all of their accomplishments. He coached baseball with Lake Air Little League, Lacy Lakeview Little League, and West Youth Baseball. He loved history and enjoyed watching the History Channel. Mike also had a love for dogs. He was a member of Knights of Columbus of West, KJT # 31, and also a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. His father-in-law, Frank E. Marak and his nephew, Michael Maguire, precede him in death. He is survived by his loving wife Karen ; two sons, Scott Stanislav and Kyle Stanislav, both of Waco; his parents, Jerry and Estelle Stanislav of West; mother-in-law, Agnes Marak of Abbott; a brother, Jerry Wayne Stanislav and his wife Tina of The Woodlands; a sister, Jeanie Maguire and her husband Jim of West; brother-in-law, Ronnie Marak and his wife Karen of Abbott; sister-in-law, Diane Kallus and her husband Stephen of Waco; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Active pallbearers are Jerry Wayne Stanislav, Ronnie Marak, Stephen Kallus, Jim Maguire, Brian Maguire, and Richard Kruger. Honorary pallbearers are employees of Dealers Electrical Supply Co. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for Mike's sons, Scott and Kyle.
