Maxine Bonge

January 24, 1935 — November 3, 2014

Maxine (Pavlas) Bonge, age 79, of Clifton, passed away late Monday evening, November 3, 2014 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott, with Elder Butch Kettler officiating. Maxine was born January 24, 1935 in Abbott, the daughter of Anton and Lillian (Hodanek) Pavlas. She attended schools in Abbott and was a 1954 graduate of West High School. On October 6, 1956, she was united in marriage to Herbert Wayne Bonge in Waco. Maxine was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Cayote Methodist Church. Maxine liked working in her garden and planting trees. She loved her dogs, Winston, Scrappy and Muffin. Maxine especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Joe Pavlas and Freddie Pavlas; and a sister, Esther Vrana. Survivors include her beloved husband of 58 years, Herb Bonge of Clifton; two sons, Ron Bonge of Clifton and Andy Bonge and wife Lynette of Waco; two sisters, Dorothy Zahirniak and Edna Sharp; two grandsons, Branden Bonge and wife Kacie, and Justin Bonge; four great grandchildren, Baylee, Blair, Justin II and Elysah; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or to Bosque Animal Rescue Kennels.
