Maudie Mae Walters

Maudie Mae Walters, age 82, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 20, 2010 at Royal Manor Health Center in Hewitt. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Danny King officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Maudie was born November 20, 1927 in Bremond, the daughter of Samuel S. and Ruby Ethel (Connell) Sims. She attended schools in Bremond, Prairie Grove, and Ben Hur near Mart. On April 6, 1961 she was united in marriage to Albert Louis Walters in Westfield. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1978. Maudie was a seamstress working for Wolf Manufacturing and Lorch Manufacturing before retiring in 1980. She enjoyed sewing, reading, fishing, and working in her garden. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in West. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Billy Ray Sims. Survivors include two daughters, Tamera Sandford of Spring and Debbie Blackwell and husband Chois Jr. of North Richland Hills; three brothers, James E. Sims and wife Carolyn of Ladson, South Carolina, Charles Sims and wife Burt of Shepphard, and Donald Sims and wife Paula of Splendora; two sisters, Mary Lou Moore of Waco and Helen Brewer and husband Douglas of Ellinger; a sister-in-law, Gladys Sims of Angleton; a special friend, Gus Wiese; six grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Darrell Paris, Darren Paris, Joseph Paris, Billy Sims, James Sims and Clinton Beck. Honorary pallbearer is Wayne King. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church in West. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Royal Manor Nursing Home and Providence Hospice for their love and care to Maudie during her illness.
