Mary Roberts

Mary Frances Roberts of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the age of 74. 

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Deacon Ronnie Sykora officiating.

Mary was born on Sunday, July 16, 1950, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Francis and Shirley Ann (Frailey) Geer. She was raised in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Bryan Adams High School in 1968, she moved to Arlington. While employed at Winn Dixie, she met and fell in love with Norman Uptmor Jr. They were married on August 8, 1970, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Arlington. She worked in the insurance industry and then various jobs in the medical field and later transferred into administration.  

Mary enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family, often attending her kids and grandkids sporting events. She loved angels, volunteering, and Boston Terriers. Mary was a member of Eastern Star and several affiliate organizations. She spent numerous years volunteering in units associated with the Shriner Hospital, performing various activities to raise funds for the youth. One of her favorite activities was performing in the annual Shiners Circus and parades as the Krazy Klown known as Buttercup.   

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Shirley Ann (Frailey) Geer; husband, Norman Uptmor Jr.; daughter, Patricia Deann Uptmor; and sister, Patricia Ann McClenden. 

She is lovingly survived by her children, Cindy Dority and her husband, Allen, of Arlington and Gina McCreary and her husband, Matt, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren. Justin and Trevor Roberts of Arlington, and Jessica Misquez, Allison McCreary, and Landon McCreary, all of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sisters, Tammie Girdner Brady, Terri Sue Bluebird and Cathy Laudermilk; brother, Ronald Jones of California; her fur baby, Peanuts, a Boston Terrier; and numerous extended family members and cherished friends.
