Mary Louise Sulak, age 87, of Hillsboro, passed away early Sunday morning, December 13, 2020 at her residence near Hillsboro. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. Very limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are required at all services. LIVE STREAM of the service will be provided. Mary was born June 28, 1933 in West, the daughter of Louis and Marie (Kubacak) Smetak. She attended O.M. Roberts Elementary and was a graduate of St. Edward's Academy in Dallas. Mary received an associate degree in accounting from Hill Junior College. On July 3, 1954 she was united in marriage to Oldrich Sulak in Dallas. Oldrich preceded her in death on July 11, 1979. Mary was a faithful member of the Our Lady Of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro, where she taught C.C.E. classes. She was also a charter member of the Catholic Daughter's of America Mary Mother of Mercy Court #2143. Mary was a "Pink Lady", a volunteer group for Hill Regional Hospital. She was a cosmetologist, bookkeeper, and administrative secretary before retiring in 2003. Mary enjoyed gardening, seamstress work, embroidery, watching television, and canning. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy. Mary is also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deborah Marie Sulak; great grandsons, Vinsont and Blaeze Morosky; a sister, Eleanora Rejcek; and brothers, Joe Smetak and Jimmy Smetak. Survivors include her children, Cindy Morosky and husband, George of Hillsboro, Michael Sulak and wife, Diann of Hillsboro, Richard Sulak and wife, Debbie of West, Jacque Huggins and husband, Rick of West, and Susie Jacobs and husband, Lawton of Grandview; grandchildren, Eric Morosky, Elizabeth Morosky, Emily Powers and husband, J.D., Misty Avila and husband, Anthony, Kevin Sulak and wife, Christina, Brent Sulak and wife, Brandi, Allison Sulak and Derek Gray, Ashley Sulak, Angie Wilson and husband, Tom, Ricky Huggins and wife, Karie, Rebecca Burchard and husband, Justin, and Michael Young; 25 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Kevin Sulak, Brent Sulak, Kaleb Powers, Derek Gray, Ricky Huggins, Brady Wilson, Brendan Wilson and Justin Burchard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church or the Special Olympics.
