Mary Lou (Kessler) Mynar, age 86, of West, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 11, 2016 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Mary Lou was born July 25, 1930 in Penelope, the daughter of Louis A. and Mary Ann (Novak) Kessler. She attended schools in Penelope. On June 20, 1950 she was united in marriage to Edward V. Mynar in Penelope. Edward preceded her in death on October 31, 2009. Mary Lou was a baker for several local bakeries including, Little Czech Bakery, Village Bakery and Kolacek's Kolache Kitchen before retiring in 2002. She was a longtime faithful member of St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the K.J.Z.T. St. Ludmila Society #11. Mary Lou enjoyed embroidery, playing bingo, baking, dancing, baking kolaches, gardening, gambling, and listening to Czech music. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Eddie Joe Mynar and Tom Mynar; and brothers, Louis Kessler, Leonard Kessler and Frank Kessler. Survivors include a son, Patrick Mynar and special friend Susan Matus of West; five daughters, Cathy Matus and husband David, Lori Neckar and husband David, Monica Kaska and husband Alfons, Jeanette Maler and husband Kevin, and Annette Hykel and husband Victor, all of West; two daughters-in-law, Dorothy Mynar Reinke and husband Danny of Waco and Frances Mynar of Smithville; sisters, Irene Berger and Georgia Cassano and husband Vince; several sisters-in-law; grandchildren, Melissa Kubitza and husband Joe, John David Matus, James Michael Matus and wife Rachel, Chad Neckar and wife Rachel, Ashley Neckar, Jennifer Buchanan and husband Rob, Michelle Holecek and husband Tanner, Brian Kaska and wife Misty, Tanner Hykel and Lexi Maler and friend, Riley Schier; great-grandchildren, Cambri, Jordyn, Claire, Brody, Lainey, Landry, Abigail, Andrew, Jonathan, Bryce and Baby Girl Matus; step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; and many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are John Matus, James Matus, Chad Neckar, Brian Kaska, Tanner Hykel, Rob Buchanan, Tanner Holecek, Joe Kubitza, Riley Schier and Brody Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Wish List or to West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
