Mary Lois Uptmore

Mary Lois Uptmore, age 80, of Waco, passed away Thursday evening, August 23, 2007 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Cemetery near Tours, with Rev. Keith Howard and Chris Cochran officiating. Mrs. Uptmore was born on May 15, 1927 in Waco, the daughter of Roy Lee and Mary Ola (Lancaster) Pearson. She graduated from Waco High School. On September 14, 1946, she was united in marriage to Tommy Louis Uptmore in Waco. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1996. She worked as a non-foods Manager for Safeway in Waco over fifteen years until her retirement in 1989. Mary Lois loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Claire Elaine Nix. Survivors include three sons, Dwyaine Uptmore and wife Janet of Eddy, Daryl Uptmore and wife Patti of Hewitt and Bill Uptmore and wife Cindy of Flower Mound; four grandchildren, Lewie Uptmore and his wife Amanda, Joe Uptmore, Josh Uptmore and Alex Uptmore; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
